A Demonstration
I walked out my front door today at around noon and what do I see? About 7 Police motorcycles, 1 patty wagon and aprox. 12 cops hanging out in front of my house.
Hmmm, I wonder.
I ask one of the officers what's going on, and he tells me "a demonstration". My first thought is, what-a demonstration of police force? But upon further questioning (why are police officers so damn obtuse when answering questions by concerned citizens?) it turns out there's to be a demonstration by OCAP (Ontario Coalition Against Poverty) on my street.
OCAP and the Toronto police have a history of violent confrontation. Needless to say I don't want violent confrontations in front of my house.
The story unfolds...
UPDATE:
All ended peacefully, at least here. The march continued to city hall.
